Accommodation for Visiting Faculty and Researchers

At the University of Waterloo there are several accommodation options for visiting faculty or researchers.

Apartments for short- or long-term stays

UW has four 1 bedroom apartments and three 2-bedroom apartments available for rent. These apartments are located in Beacon Tower, located on Westmount Road, approximately 5 minutes walk to the University. 

Apartments are fully furnished and include:

  • a double bed (twin bed in second bedroom of 2-bedroom units)
  • linens and bedding
  • four-piece bathroom
  • towels
  • full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher
  • pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, and housewares
  • furnished living room
  • outdoor balcony
  • laundry facilities are located on the main floor of the building. 
  • Hydro, local telephone service (not long distance; Bell Calling cards are available at Village 1), cable TV and high speed internet
  • iron and ironing board

Minimum stay is one month, there is no maximum. Parking is extra and can be arranged with the superintendent of the building. Pets are not allowed.

1 bedroom apartment $1525 / month
2-bedroom apartment $1625 / month

The Visitor's Apartment

The Visitor's Apartment is located on campus above the Health Services Office. It is available at a rate of $75 per night. The apartment is only rented through departmental account numbers for a period of no more than 2 weeks and is not available to the general public.
